Ronda Lee Chapman
Ronda Lee Chapman is a skilled facilitator and community engagement specialist. She has experience convening leaders committed to equitable communities rooted in healing in efforts related to climate resilience, water, energy, higher education, and waste management. She currently serves as the Associate Vice President of Equity and Belonging at the Trust for Public Land, where she works to bring parks and nature to people, places, and communities.
Ronda Lee Chapman attended Portland State University for her undergraduate degree.
Chapman has worked in leadership roles as a Sustainability Project Manager at George Washington University (2013-2015) and Equity and Community Engagement Advisor at the District Department of the Environment (2015-2016). In the latter role, she evaluated programming to ensure racial equity and community engagement in the District. Chapman also served as Executive Director of Groundwork DC from 2017 to 2018, a non-profit dedicated to community-oriented projects.
Also, from 2017 to 2018, she served as a Commissioner on the Commission on Climate Change and Resilience in the Executive Office of the Mayor in Washington, D.C. In the role, she helped recommend ways to mitigate climate vulnerabilities to the Council, Mayor, and District agencies. Before her current role, Chapman worked for PolicyLink as a Senior Associate until 2020, where she conducted research and supported capacity-building for regional and national coalitions. She helped lead efforts on water infrastructure, energy, climate resilience, waste management, higher education, and non-profit sectors with the organization, ensuring equitable practices and goals. Chapman is the Associate Vice President of Equity and Belonging at The Trust for Public Land. As Director, she works to connect nature to people and communities using equity and justice.
