Dr. Easter served as the Director of Outreach at the Washington University School of Medicine Genome Center from 2003 to 2006. She is the Chief of Education and Community Involvement Branch at the National Human Genome Research Institute, which she started in 2015. In this role, she helped develop educational and community involvement programs to help engage the National Institutes of Health public in understanding genomics. She is also the National Museum of Natural History's inaugural Broh-Kahn Weil Director of Education, where she leads the Department of Education, Outreach, and Visitor Experience. Her responsibilities include developing and deploying educational and community programming, interacting with visitors, and overseeing operations of the Insect Zoo, Butterfly Pavilion, and the Coralyn W. Whitney Science Education Center.
