Dr. LaShunda Anderson Hodges is an Associate Soil and Plant Science Professor at Southern University and A&M College. She is a trained agronomist and has worked on projects related to wildlife habitats, native grasses, food systems, and unmanned vehicles. Her current research at Southern University focuses on Industrial Hemp Production. Dr. Anderson Hodges is a recognized scholar and leader who was recently inducted into the prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry.

Career: 

After earning her doctorate, Dr. Anderson Hodges joined Southern University and A&M College as a Project Management Administrator (2007-2009), managing the Wildlife Habitat and Native Grasses Educational Outreach Project. In 2009, she joined Alcorn State University, her alma mater, as a Research Scientist (2009-2020). As a research scientist, Dr. Anderson Hodges studied opportunities for shitake mushroom and native grass production to provide alternative incomes for small farmers. In 2018, she was promoted to FAA Drone Workforce Development Administrator and, in 2019, became an Associate Professor of Agronomy.

Dr Anderson Hodges currently serves in a variety of capacities. She is an External Grant Program Reviewer for Diversified Consulting Solutions (2009-present) and the National Program Director for USFWS MOU's Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. In addition, Dr. Anderson Hodges is an Associate Professor of Soil and Plant Science at Southern University and A&M College, where she is the lead researcher for industrial hemp production. In 2023, she was inducted into the Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry, which chronicles biographies of accomplished individuals and innovators.
